HOMEMADE BABY FOOD MEAT DINNER COMBOS
Mix these cooked combos into rice, noodles, cereal or just mix them and
serve.
Turkey and sweet potatoes
Beef, sweet potato and carrots
Chicken, peas and carrots
Fish, potato and green beans
Chicken, yellow squash and zucchini
Turkey, yellow squash and peas
Meat
Purée
Ingredients:
1 cup of cold and cooked boneless beef, pork, veal,
chicken or turkey - chopped into chunks no bigger than 1 inch
1/4 cup water
Method:
Place meat chunks in blender or food processor and puree until a
powdery mix is formed.
Slowly add water and puree further until a smooth consistency is
created.
Add as much liquid as needed to make a consistency appropriate for your
baby!
You may add veggies or fruits to this puree as you like.
Baby
Beef Stew
Ingredients:
1/2 cup cubed cooked beef
1 peeled potato
¼ cup shelled fresh or frozen peas
1 peeled carrot
1 stalk of celery
1/4 cup uncooked macaroni
4 cups of water
Method:
Wash vegetables thoroughly and chop very fine.
Simmer the veggies for 20 minutes or until softened.
Add the macaroni and cook for 10 minutes longer or until very soft.
Drain but save the water. Mash or puree the mix until it is of a
consistency adequate for baby
Beef
and green beans
Ingredients:
100g fresh beef lean mince
50g trimmed green beans, cut into 0.5 cm pieces
160g potatoes, cut into 8 pieces
Method:
Fry the beef without added fat in a non-stick pan until lightly
browned, then add 1 tbsp water.
Cook the potatoes in a pan, steaming the beans in a sieve over them for
around 8 minutes until tender.
Place the beans and beef in a blender and whizz together with 1
tablespoon water until smooth.
Mash the potatoes with 2 tablespoons water or baby's usual milk. Mash
in the bean and beef mix.
Apples
& Chicken
Ingredients:
1/3 cup chopped & cooked boneless chicken
1/4 cup cooked apple (no skin or seeds), very soft
You can also use a 1/4 cup of Natural applesauce
Method:
Puree chicken with cooked apple in a food processor or blender until
desired consistency for baby is achieved.
Chicken
Casserole
Ingredients:
1 tbsp vegetable oil
2 chopped carrots
2 sliced leeks, white part only
1 chicken breasts, cut into chunks
2 potatoes, peeled and chopped
2 peeled, chopped parsnips
boiling water
Method:
Heat oil in pan, add carrots & leeks, & sauté until
softened, (about 6 mins.)
Add chicken and sauté, turning occasionally, till seared, but not
browned. Add potatoes & parsnips & just cover with
boiling water.
Cover & simmer for 15 mins, or till everything is tender and
cooked through. Blend to a puree.
FREEZING
TIMES FOR HOMEMADE BABY PURÉE MEAT CUBES
Baby food cubes may be safely kept in the freezer for 3 Months. However
it is preferable to use the cubes within 1 month. Meats are more
unstable when frozen so it is best to use Meat Purées as soon as
possible!
