VEGGIE COMBOS
Mix these combos together to make yummy meals!

Squash and sweet potatoes
Peas and carrots
Sweet potato and carrots
Potato and green beans
Yellow squash and zucchini
Yellow squash and peas

Pureed Carrots

Ingredients:
2 fresh carrots

Method:
Peel and wash carrots, dice.
Microwave or place in a small saucepan with boiling water and simmer gently with lid on until tender.
Allow to cool. Blend in a food processor until pureed.
Pour the pureed vegetables into Baby Cube containers and refrigerate or freeze.

Other vegetables that you can puree:
Potato
Pumpkin
Squash
Sweet potato (kumara)
Fresh or frozen beans
Peas
Broccoli
Avocado
Spinach
Cauliflower
Parsnip

Garden Vegetable Combo

Ingredients:
Fresh or frozen green beans & peas
Zucchini
Squash
Potato (thinly sliced)
Carrots (chopped finely)

Method:
Combine fresh or frozen green beans and peas, zucchini, squash potato and carrots.
Add enough water to just cover the vegetables.
Cook until tender, reserving water.
Puree vegetables in blender or food processor, adding reserved water from the vegetables until mixture is of the desired consistency.

Cheesy Lentil Puree

Ingredients:
1 small onion (peeled and chopped)
2 medium carrots (peeled and chopped)
50g red capsicum (cored, deseeded and chopped)
2 tbsp vegetable oil
4 tbsp lentils
500ml boiling water or unsalted vegetable stock
100g cheddar cheese

Method:
Sautee the onion, carrot and red pepper in the vegetable oil for 3-4 mins.
Rinse the lentils, add them to the pan and pour over the boiling water or vegetable stock.
Cover and simmer for 25-30 mins or until the lentils are mushy.
Add a little more water if necessary but there should be only a little water left in the pan.
Stir in the cheese and puree till smooth.

Broccoli and cornmeal mash

Ingredients:
50g fine cornmeal
400ml water
2 large florets broccoli

Method:
Mix the cornmeal with the water and bring to the boil, stirring all the time.
Simmer, stirring regularly, for 10 minutes until the corn is cooked.
Meanwhile steam or microwave the broccoli until tender and drain.
Blend both ingredients together into a suitable consistency.

FREEZING TIMES FOR HOMEMADE BABY PURÉE FRUIT CUBES
Baby Food Cubes may be safely kept in the Freezer for 3 Months. However it is preferable to use the cubes within 1 month.
